Under the pillow to her bed is a notebook. The first page seems to have been ripped out (and can be found elsewhere in the room), but the second page has what looks like a hastily written note.

If you're reading this, then something happened. I wasn't going to write one of these, but after tonight, I feel like I owe you this.

You are a good person, Makoto Edamura. You have shown more kindness to me in the last week or so than I know what to do with. I am not sure if I am deserving of it or not, but I thank you all the same.

I hope you can forgive me for this. Perhaps if the world was different, it wouldn't have to be this way.
